Pet Chat is a live show that runs every Saturday at 8PM Eastern for 1 hour.  It bring together audiences on Twitter (X), Instagram, and Facebook.

Bernoulli finally mastered the art of the figure eight, and what better way to celebrate than with a nibble on his own report card? From Beaker's persistent eyelid bump that's kept us all guessing since Comic-Con, to Kris's photo diary capturing Bernoulli's adorable journey from mischievous puppy to dignified adult, there's never a dull moment with our furry friends around.

Ever found a new family member by accident? That's exactly what happened when Sasha stumbled upon Toby, the newest feline addition to the family, during an unexpected pet store visit. Join us as we recount the joys and challenges of integrating Toby into an already lively household. We also touch on the buzz from dog-themed Twitter gems, including an endearing shout-out to Sarah Brown and her half-Pyrenees, Sadie, all while juggling Thanksgiving celebrations and a challenging book project.

As we round out the episode, we reflect on the unexpected joys of swapping the traditional turkey dinner for a delicious twist with Indian Flamin' Pizza. Bernoulli's antics continue to keep us on our toes, whether he's outgrowing Beaker or interrupting our recording session by attempting to eat cords. Through it all, we express our gratitude for the vibrant community that surrounds us, which brings warmth and laughter to our lives, perfectly encapsulating the essence of being pet parents.

Speaker 1:

Hello pet enthusiasts, we're back. Welcome to Pet Chat. My name is Jason Zukoski. I'm the dog dad of Bunsen, beaker, bernoulli and, I guess, the cat dad to Ginger. The science animals of social media.

Speaker 2:

My co-hostess with the mostest is Hi there, I'm Chris Sikowski and I am the dog mom to Bunsen and Beaker and Bernoulli and the cat mom to Ginger, and very happy to be here hosting co-hosting with Jason, who is the host with the most.

Speaker 1:

Oh, I don't know about that. I don't know about that. So welcome to everybody. Let's share some news about Bunsen and Beaker, Bernoulli and Ginger this week. Do you want to start? Do you want to go first?

Speaker 2:

We can talk about level two.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I'll talk about the eye surgery. You talk about level two.

Speaker 2:

So Bernoulli, he has been training for his level two. He's been training for his level two. He's been working very hard. He's such a good boy. He's doing all of the things that are really hard for him. He's overcome and we went for our level two test and his scores went right up. Like he moved from good to very good to excellent. Now, of course, they do like a touch base How's it going? Throughout his training? And one of the trainers, Alicia she was holding up his report card, like his sample report card, of how he was doing, and he went up and he bit it. He grabbed it and he bit it and I'm like what? And we had a really big laugh, Alicia and I, because the dog eats the homework joke.

Speaker 2:

It's true, it's true. Bernoulli does that all the time.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And so I'm like ah, I don't want you to eat your sample report card here, because there's things that we still needed to work on. But we went. Was it Wednesday night? Yes, it was Wednesday night. You and I went to and you weren't a hundred percent. That was the day you had your raging migraine and brain frog from it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I was like up and moving by one, but like shaky and weak, so yeah, but you did very well, Okay Well thank you. I didn't get treats, though. Actually I did. I got a hot chocolate at the end of it, so I did get a treat.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I did give you a treat hot chocolate but so what happened is he did his figure eight, his quick, slow. He did a three minute down stay on his mat and then he did a finish and he did like standing and he did the best I've ever seen him do. We do the verbal cues of sit, stand and down, and then you do the nonverbal cues, just the hand signals, because if your dog ever becomes blind then they'll be able to hear you say the signals, or if they ever become deaf then they'll be able to see you do the signals. But anyway, so he did all of those much better than he's ever done at home. And then I did the return to him on his down stay. And I walked around and alicia said do you think he's going to be worried that you're going to step on his tail? No, for newly he's not worried about anything like that. He is pretty much bomb proof, like because he's so trusting of us, because of the relationship that we've built so far.

Speaker 1:

yeah, and he's such a good boy plus, he's got a blockhead too, like I don't know if he feels pain the same way bunsen does, because he'll just smash. He'll use his head to stop doors from closing and you're like oh my god, do you have a concussion from that? And he's just happy to keep going.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, he's oh man, kool-aid man, like today we are. We arrived at waggles and so they have the two gate system where you go in and then it's a little space where you can get your dog settled, take the leash off. And so we went in and he went on the other gate, on the secondary gate, and he pushed it right open so someone didn't close it properly after they went through, and but it was okay, because he came perfect recall back in and then I'm like we need to sit here, I need to give our money, and so I put it in the bin and then we went in and played but I was like, oh man, bernoulli is a Kool-Aid man.

Speaker 1:

And Chris took some absolutely adorable photos of Bernoulli today and because our phones are synced by the cloud, like this one is my favorite so we'll eventually be posting them on social media. I think I posted them, actually, on the Paw Pack, which is our private community, but this one is just adorable of him, so I'm sharing that to the live viewers so they can see that's a really good shot you got of him just his smiley face and he's not as puppy looking right, he's starting to look like an adult dog. But that's okay, that's life. Right, speaking of life, it's not like we kept it a big secret, but and maybe because it was not life-threatening Beaker has had this bump growing on her eye, like right on her eyelid for how long? Like since Comic-Con, since we took them to Comic-Con, like since September.

Speaker 2:

Of course we go back and we look at the pictures and see when things are starting. I'm wondering if it was before that, because I did notice her kind of burrowing her face on the couch and rubbing her face on the carpet and I was, oh, maybe she's bothered by something. But then there wasn't anything there until there was something there. So I would say maybe even late summer. But we had Bunsen with his alien baby late summer. We were very focused on him.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And we were focused on Bernoulli as a puppy in June.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so sadly, beaker the goodest girl. Maybe we just didn't see it, but it started to grow rapidly. The last three weeks it grew from a tiny dot to something like the tip of my pinky finger. Honestly, it was about that big and it was red and inflamed because I think it was bugging her.

Speaker 1:

And if you saw some social media photos, people were making comments about it and and we were given a couple choices from the vet and the one choice to leave it. It wasn't a great choice because it would grow probably big enough, it would start to rub on her eyeball and that would cause an ulcer and that's the last thing we want for little beaker, because we love her so much. And the vet said it's a pretty simple surgery to zap that off of her eyelid and then we don't, you don't have to worry about it getting to that side and then really hurting her eye. So we waited a week to see if it would decrease in size and and she basically said there's 0% chance of it getting smaller, it's only going to get bigger. And we're like, oh man. And she said but let's wait a week and see what happens.

Speaker 1:

And it got worse, like it was. You remember how red and inflamed it was before you took her in. Yeah, so Chris took the dogs and Chris took Beaker inursday and her surgery was thursday and she was oh so sad and dopey and out of it thursday but by friday, after the work week, she was back to herself. So, aside from having to wear the cone for two weeks, she's doing great and that's the beaker update and she does her eye drops very well as well yes she's just so good, like she'll do her eardrop.

Speaker 2:

She'll do like anything, she's agreeable to anything.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she's not a diva like bunsen, is a diva with everything, everything. Dr charlie I've posted this, I think, in our stories and as a normal post on twitter, but dr charlie shared this video oh, poor beaker right after surgery and she's like comforting her and that's beaker is not. Doesn't look like that. Beaker is like sunny and bright, with a smiley face. So I'm so glad that dr charlie was comforting her and but that's what beaker looked like thursday and it broke our hearts. But it was simple surgery and she's back to her sunny self, which is great. And the cone is doing two things it's fun for Bernoulli to bite and Beaker has used it to block Bernoulli from messing with the cat on occasion. So I thought that was funny because it takes up a lot.

Speaker 2:

It's like a shield, but then also a shield.

Speaker 1:

It's a shield and a shield yeah, a shield to bite for Bernoulli, which is fun, but also Beaker can knock him around with it a bit, which is cute. All right, Chris, do you have anything else to add? Bunsen's doing great.

Speaker 2:

Bunsen is doing very well.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I posted on Thanksgiving that he is chewing on both sides, his right and his left, which he wasn't doing prior to his uh, removal of the alien baby, yeah, and, and he also comes for ice now. So he wasn't coming for ice previous to his surgery. So he's back to his old self again and, as a result, his head is growing back. And I tell him every day good boy, you're growing your head back yes, chris was right.

Speaker 1:

Definitely his atrophy is I don't even know if you can notice it in photos like it's significantly improved. So yes, chris, maybe his cyst was related to his atrophy. I will concede that to you.

Speaker 2:

I'm not saying that, like correlation isn't causation, but I am saying good boy for growing your face back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and we've been taking Ginger on some walks in the backpack. A lot of people love seeing her in the backpack. We have a whole bunch of new followers on Meta, like Instagram and Facebook, and some people didn't know that we take Ginger in this little carrier and they're wanting to know about it. I think I probably should have brought it downstairs, but Chris is the one that normally packs Ginger. I think I probably should have brought it downstairs, but Chris is the one that normally packs ginger. But a caveat is we don't take ginger out when it's really hot in that thing and it's just because it's like a cooker, right Like the plastic gets hot in there and I think it's too hot for her. So, like in the middle of our summers, we don't take her in the backpack. It's too hot.

Speaker 2:

No, but we do put her in the catio, we don't take her in the backpack.

Speaker 1:

It's too hot, no, but we do put her in the catio. Yeah, she goes out in the catio like every day in the summer, which she can stay out there for hours. She loves her catio and I think next week we will see Bernoulli's first interaction with snow. Snow is in the forecast. I know, chris, that's very sad for you, but there's a snowfall warning for the Rockies today tonight Snowfall warning. But it was hot today, like not hot, but the wind was warm and usually you can feel snow in the air, like I know when it's going to snow, there's like a certain temperature change.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, all right, should we move to the next section of our show? We've shared all of our stories and our updates. Yeah, okay. So if you're watching live, it's hard to interact, but you can type questions or comments or if there's something you'd like us to know, like maybe something happened in your life with your pet. If you're watching live, live, please type that up and we can throw it up on the. Oh, I still got the. I am out of practice. I still have the kahoot code up there. People are probably like what is that? But I can throw the comments up in the jumbotron.

Speaker 1:

Like madison redford says, chris was right 100 and thanks, madison yeah, and megan says still a mush brain when we're talking about bernlli's training. And if you are listening live on audio, you can be part of the conversation. Request the mic and, excuse me, we'll get you up there. So we've got, oh sorry, wrong button One second. I just got to go back here. We got Sasha the Bernadudo and there's a bunch of comments on Twitter. Chris, I don't know if you can, if you have a I know I was going through them.

Speaker 2:

Sarah Brown said everyone loves my home is where the dog is shirt oh, that's a great one that is a great one, yeah, oh, and then she said that she loved the dog breed thread today because sadie is half pyrenees, her dog, yep. And then she put some pictures of sadie in there, so I'm going to put those into the nest perfect.

Speaker 1:

The nest for people watching live is a twitter thing, so there's like a that. Don't worry, when we say nest, you're like what is that? We had people asking what the nest was. We'll take one question from Instagram and then we'll go to Sasha, then Tracy. So, captain Clannet. Captain Clannet, if you're on Kahoot, kahoot is over. I'm so sorry. I should have took that code off of there. Angel. Angel M Sack says how was your Thanksgiving? It was good. We did a thing with my dad and my siblings and that was a lot of fun, lots of good food. And then what did we do on actual Thanksgiving? Were we working on the book? I think we were working on the formatting of the book, because that was going to the printers.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I worked for hours on that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, get it formatted and then only to have it rejected yeah, so we're like and so then I had to work hours on it again yeah, I was helping you not the first time though, no, but we're about five days behind because of the there, they changed the rules with the formatting on the book and caught us off guard, so so it's a little bit of this, a little bit of that. So Thanksgiving was good. Okay, we'll go to Sasha, then Tracy, and then we'll see if there's some questions from our live viewers. So we're going to bring in the folks live from Twitter or X. Go ahead, sasha, but it's not Sasha. Hi, jason.

Speaker 6:

Hi Jason, Hi Chris, I'm glad to hear you had a good Thanksgiving. So did Bernoulli get any turkey for Thanksgiving?

Speaker 1:

No, he didn't, Nope.

Speaker 6:

Aw, yes. So, seeing as we're dual nationals, this was our first Thanksgiving, and my in-laws will be here for American Thanksgiving next month, so that'll be really fun. So we do two Thanksgivings every year.

Speaker 1:

Nice.

Speaker 6:

Double the food. Yeah, oh, hell, yeah. Anyway and chris probably knows this because I know she watches my feed we have big news in our household I saw this, I saw this yes, we have a cat again and it just. I have to tell the story because it's so great and I'm going to warn you, it's a Chris-style story.

Speaker 2:

Short story long.

Speaker 6:

Short story long.

Speaker 2:

Yes, exactly yes okay, yeah, that's the only way to tell them Hell yeah.

Speaker 6:

So last Saturday, because of a deadline, I had to work for a bit in the afternoon. And I got done and I'm like, okay, I need to go pick up dog food. So I drove over to Bosley's, which that's Pet Value in the rest of Canada we just it's. They never changed the name here when Pet Value bought them. But I didn't go to my usual Bosley's. I went to one that was closer to work. And I get out of the car and there's this couple coming out of the store with a cat on a leash and I'm like, oh, my god, that's so cute, blah, blah.

Speaker 6:

I go into the store and the ladies at the register were talking about it and we're talking about how awesome it was and I'm like, yeah, I really miss having a cat. We've just, we've been looking but we're having trouble finding one that we know is going to be okay with our dog. And they're like we got this cat in today from one of the local rescues. You should come over and meet him. So I go over to the cage they've got set up for him and here is this beautiful, chonky brown tabby of a cat and he's just oh, you've come to pay attention to me. Okay, I like attention and for being in the middle of a pet store. He's just completely not stressed at all. He's just like lounging and grooming himself. And I'm like, yeah, but he's like gotta make sure he's not gonna attack my dog and I'm like dogs have been walking by and sniffing his cage all day and he doesn't care. Oh, okay, so I get home and I see my husband and I'm like I met a cat. And he's like, oh, and I'm like trust me on this. So the next day I said, okay, you have to come to the pet store, you have to come meet this cat. So we went back and he comes out and stretch, groom and while we're there, this like big dog walks by him and he doesn't even pay attention to him at all. He's just could not care less. So my husband says, okay, I think we need to apply to adopt this cat. So we applied and got approved and we picked him up Tuesday night and we have named him Toby.

Speaker 6:

The rescue thought he was about a year old. We think he's younger, we think he could be as young as six months. Wow, he still has a very kitten-y body, like when cats when they're even older kittens they look very leggy and really skinny and he still looks like that and I did some reading and it's like you can't really base it on their adult teeth, because cats get their adult teeth at five months. He's an older kitten, I would say, but he is so affectionate and just settled right in.

Speaker 6:

Usually you bring a cat home for the first time, the first thing to do is go and hide. Oh, not him. I let him out of the carrier. He's chowing on his dinner. He's demanding attention. He's sitting in my lap. He's been helping my husband work by walking across the keyboard, which has been great. Yeah, so he and Sasha they're still working things out. They're not quite sure about each other yet and we're keeping an eye on their interactions and making sure everybody's behaving themselves and they'll settle in. I'm not concerned at all. So Sasha's just a goober sometimes and she thinks, oh, he's a dog, we should play chase. And he's just a goober sometimes and she thinks, oh, he's a dog, we should play chase, and he's just, oh, hell, no. So anyway, we feel like our family's complete again and I'm just so happy we found this cat and I'm convinced it was just. It was karma. It was karma that I went to that bosley's last saturday instead of my normal one.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if it's karma. It's like serendipitous Is serendipity, where it all just comes together in a good way.

Speaker 6:

We are going to have to get a new carrier though, because he's quite a bit bigger than Fiona and we figure he's probably going to fill out some more. He barely fit in her old carrier. So we're like's probably going to fill out some more and he barely fit in her old carrier. So we're like you're gonna upgrade him a size, but I like chonky pets. So yes, it was.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry, jason no, I'm just excited for you yay, thank you, thank you guys.

Speaker 6:

So much's just what I you don't expect.

Speaker 1:

Sasha will need a whiteboard with mauling countdowns.

Speaker 6:

She's not a mauler.

Speaker 1:

She's more of a she.

Speaker 6:

She's a bark and chase. Okay, so I think, if she does yeah, yeah, I think she may need a whiteboard for a bark and chase the cat. Although I was very proud of Toby this this morning, he actually did just stop and smack her upside the head. Yeah, which kind of she needed.

Speaker 1:

So dogs need that.

Speaker 6:

Yeah, bernoulli's getting quite a few smacks lately bernoulli boppings yeah so anyway, I'm just so happy and the household feels normal again. Aw.

Speaker 1:

We got Thalberg69 from Instagram says congratulations. So there's a comment from Instagram about your story. All right, chris, should we go to Tracy and then Jen? Right now there's no comments or questions coming in from Instagram or the live videos, but drop a comment or question. If you have one for us, we'll get to it.

Speaker 2:

There was a comment in the Twitter saying that our faces are skinny.

Speaker 1:

Our faces. Thank you, we've been working on that.

Speaker 2:

No, I don't think it's like that.

Speaker 1:

I think it's we can do this, which is like way too close up. Oh, and that gets rid of you completely. I'm just trying our art. I'm trying our traditional one, because there was some. Some people did not like the portrait style last time we did it, so I'm just going back to our normal style and oh yeah, all right, maybe it depends on what device you're on.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, what it looks like it probably on what device you're on.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, what it looks like. It probably also depends if you're on Twitter or X, because you got a 50 50 chance of that platform working every day.

Speaker 2:

Like I. Just the way I see it is that we're not skinny.

Speaker 1:

No, it's skinny this way and I think, like last day, we were like we were stacked on top of each other, right, and then some people couldn't view it or something. So I just went back to the traditional one and maybe people can give us a comment if they've watched two weeks, because we didn't have Pet Chat last week because of Thanksgiving. Let us know which version you like best, right, but let's go to Tracy. Go ahead, tracy, and then we'll go to Jen.

Speaker 5:

Hi guys, hi hey.

Speaker 2:

Tracy.

Speaker 5:

Good, how are you? I'm good. I just posted a new tweet of the cats, uh like progressively sleeping. It's very cute. Chris is gonna be on they're like on the ottoman, sleeping next to each other. I do have to get their nails trimmed next week because they are stabby.

Speaker 1:

Oh man.

Speaker 5:

I don't know how long it was, like how long they were in the shelter. The person who had them before took care of their nails, so I want to make sure to get that done so we can just snuggle and I won't be stabbed. But they're like fully out now and they're interacting, and sometimes one of them will sleep by me, like at the foot of the bed, so that's really cute.

Speaker 1:

Love it. What are the two cats names again?

Speaker 2:

Colt and Amy. Colt and Amy.

Speaker 1:

Oh right, I'm dumb. So Amy has the white nose and Colt Holt and Amy, brooklyn, nine-nine oh right, I'm dumb.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, amy has the white nose and Holt's like an all-black nose.

Speaker 1:

I need to get some Brooklyn Nine-Nine sound effects on my board.

Speaker 5:

Yes, hot damn.

Speaker 1:

Or when Holt eats a marshmallow, the sound he makes. That's another really good one. Yeah, woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo, like he sounds like a cartoon character. When Holt eats a marshmallow, the sound he makes. That's another really good one. Yeah, like he sounds like a cartoon character.

Speaker 5:

And speaking of Amy, just when it's out of my lap. He's on my lap right now, purring, and he's on the Ottoman. So yeah, definitely looked at all these two.

Speaker 1:

We're very happy that you're getting along with the cats and we appreciate your update, tracy, that's awesome, thank you.

Speaker 5:

It's been three weeks now already, so yeah, it's crazy, it's not fast one question time flies.

Speaker 1:

One question before you go. Tracy, one of the cats, holt or amy, was shy. Is that improving?

Speaker 5:

I think you said that weeks ago yeah, amy's like a pair of monsters sitting like. She's on my lap right now. Okay, he's out. She's like very demanding for attention, but she won't like settle. Can you please just sit there like your brother does, just be a lab cat, and just sit there. Don't walk all over me. But no, we're working on it. But yeah she definitely loves attention now that she's out and interacting all right, thanks, tracy.

Speaker 1:

We got one. A couple comments from instagram. I'll just read them out to honor that, because it's tough to interact on lives. Jack plaque said I love y'all's burners. Watch them with mine right now. Very sweet Thanks, jack. Okay, will Madison, actually Tracy. Madison says so glad Tracy has two cats now, with an exclamation mark. And then Ann says Ann's watching on Facebook Live, says I watch on Facebook and like the side-by-side view. So I believe that's this one, because the other one is stacked. So I don't know. We. This one seems to be the more popular version, even if we're a little shrinky, smalled. Okay, we'll go to jen. Go ahead, jen. Thanks for waiting hi hello happy, belated thanksgiving.

Speaker 4:

Sorry to not be in touch how was your thanksgiving?

Speaker 1:

it was good. I hope yours was well it was pretty good.

Speaker 4:

You know what I did this year and I don't know what the equivalent would be in the us, but I have 83 year old parents, I have kids and I was like I don't have time for this, so I got swanson tv dinners and it was a total win. It was a win and I'm doing it next year too.

Speaker 4:

So I don't know what the us equivalent of that is, because I don't think they have that, but it was amazing and it and I normally wouldn't buy that sort of food, but I thought it's thanksgiving, blah blah and I did that, loved it, um, and so happy to hear the cat stories, cats for the win, and that's wonderful. And and you know what I'm gonna say, I'm older than both you and chris. If you look skinny on your feeds. All good on everything, it's all good, yeah. So thanks for letting me speak. I won't take a lot of time, but happy, belated thanksgiving, and sorry I haven't been involved as much lately, just busy with work, so thanks.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's okay. No worries, jen, I appreciate you coming today. We had like traditional. I guess what would traditional be Like? Turkey and potatoes and stuff with my dad's, with my?

Speaker 4:

siblings.

Speaker 1:

And then Adam, like we had a super busy Monday working on the book and I think I was doing something else. Like you were working on the book, I was doing something else. And Adam calls us and he's like are we having turkey for Thanksgiving? And we're like Adam, that's like a four hour job or more. We don't have turkey for Thanksgiving. And so we just ordered we just got Indian food and it was amazing. So not turkey, but it was delicious, it was awesome. There's a place that we get we get Indian food that's within driving distance of where we live and we found them during the pandemic and they're it's quite delicious there. So shout out to Indian Flamin' Pizza.

Speaker 4:

I'm thinking for our American friends. We need to figure out what their equivalent is on the Swanson TV dinner.

Speaker 1:

Oh, Swanson TV dinner Right Probably. Hungry man dinner Crave yeah, jason, can you make me not so?

Speaker 2:

big on the screen because I don't have oh, you don't have ginger anymore.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, you're on solo layout, so it's just for this sort of thing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you know yes, so americans drop some comments about what's. What is the brand of tv dinners that you guys? I guess that they're like single serving microwavable meals, right, classic TV dinners what are they called in the States? Because we have Hungry man and Schwantz Schwantzen. Yeah, I don't think Crave makes a turkey dinner, chris. They make other stuff. So people are dropping comments on Instagram saying we do have TV dinners in a variety of configurations. So maybe there's a. Maybe there's so many brands. Compared to Canada, it's like we have two brands Very likely.

Speaker 1:

We have two brands, so oh, Stouffer In the chat. Go ahead.

Speaker 2:

Stouffer, that would be yeah. In the chat it says hey, chris, did you hear Slim Shady is going to be a grandpa.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

Wow that I have not aged today, so I don't know how that's possible. Congratulations, slim Shady.

Speaker 1:

Franklin says we have Swanson's. Have since the sixties, so there you go so we can start our wrap up, and that's okay. We go for as long as people have stories they want to share or comments or questions, and that's absolutely cool. Bernoulli was on camera a second ago. There's a block above your shot with a blur background, like zoom. Okay, I don't know what that means. We might have to do some trial a, trial b type stuff, but oh uh, yeah, go ahead.

Speaker 4:

Jen on twitter I can't believe these two puppies are the same size now. It's just amazing, right which two puppies like Bernoulli and Beaker sorry yeah, they're the same size. Now, right, and it's just amazing to see that.

Speaker 1:

Bernoulli is significantly bigger now than bigger than Beaker now oh my god, I miss that holy cow yeah, bernoulli is pushing 70 pounds. He was weighed a couple days ago. He was 67. 67 pounds.

Speaker 2:

So I had both dogs with me to take Beaker to the vet and then take Bernoulli to Waggles for his doggy daycare, and I definitely put both dogs on the scale and Bernoulli was 67 pounds.

Speaker 4:

And he's not full grown right.

Speaker 1:

Not even close.

Speaker 2:

No, he is not even close.

Speaker 4:

That is amazing the transformation, and thanks for recording it. It was just amazing to see it. I'm shocked that he's still not full grown. Wow, that's amazing.

Speaker 1:

He'll grow until he's a year, so he's got like a good five months left of growing.

Speaker 4:

Oh, my goodness Okay.

Speaker 1:

Go ahead, Holly or Sasha.

Speaker 6:

I was just going to say I forgot to tell you how catchy the text from Bunsen song is. I find myself wandering around singing it to myself, so you did good with that one.

Speaker 1:

That one is. So it's the chorus, it's just it's so well done and I'm like I'm obviously not the one singing it. I did work with the musician on the lyrics and I forget if I mentioned where the inspiration came from. It came from a cartoon that I, my sisters, watched, but I loved the theme song. It was Disney's Gummy Bears from like the early 90s.

Speaker 1:

So okay any gen xers out there, maybe you would have watched disney's gummy bears, but it's got like this really nice harmony, which is really nerdy. But I love cartoon theme songs and, yeah, it was patterned after disney's gummy bears, that harmony it's also going to send a wave to Penny Lane.

Speaker 6:

Glad to hear you guys didn't get too horribly impacted by Helene. It's nice to see you here.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yes, I see Penny there. We have some questions actually coming on Instagram. Thank you for those. So Lutzer Love says Bernoulli loves Bernoulli. Where does the name come from? So where does Bernoulli the name Bernoulli loves Bernoulli, when does the name come from? So where did? Where does Bernoulli the name Bernoulli come from, Chris?

Speaker 2:

Mathematician and a physicist from Switzerland, and Bernoulli's principle is it's really applicable to flight, with the change in air pressure, with fast moving and slow moving air causing lift. So that's where it came from. And we were in the car and we were picking B names, because we have Beaker, bernoulli, bunsen and Jason's like I want a boy dog and I'd also like a science name to keep with the theme and we were running through a bunch of names and then on one of the lists I happened to look at, I said Bernoulli and your voice caught and you're like it's perfect.

Speaker 1:

I just about started crying because it was so perfect. It was like that little dog is Bernoulli and he is Bernoulli. He is Bernoulli, he is. That's what he is. He's a Bernoulli. What's a Bernoulli? That's a Bernoulli. Yeah, he is. That's what he is. He's a Bernoulli. What's a Bernoulli? That's a Bernoulli.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I'm tearing up just thinking about it.

Speaker 1:

It was perfect because we try our best to make our content uplifting and kind and fun and educational and, like Bernoulli's principle is all about lift and it was perfect. So what a great question. Thank you, lutzer Love. Go ahead, chris. I didn't mean to talk over you.

Speaker 2:

No, I am noticing a bit of a lag, though, so I apologize if I spoke over you. No, it was just we were in the car and it was Bernoulli, and then we could tie it into. We could call him Bernie for short, bernie the burner, bernie's mountain dog, but we just call him Bernoulli. Sometimes you call him newly.

Speaker 1:

I do Sometimes I call him newly. Another question from Instagram, just about Bernoulli's weight. Will he be bigger than Bunsen? We're pretty sure he's going to be bigger. We think so. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I put his weight and his age into OmniCalculator. It was actually I interviewed one of the scientists in charge of all of the OmniCalculator. Is this really cool website? You guys should check it out. It calculates everything. And I put his weight and his age into the dog predictor for how big your dog will get. And then I told chris and she didn't believe me. It said 132 pounds. That's what it said, but the range was that was on the high end. The range was like 110 to 132 and that is bigger than bunsen, because bunsen's like about 92 pounds right now. He was a little heavier about three months ago but he had a 10 pound tummy tuck that removed a little bit of excess weight he was carrying. Okay, we did bring up Penny, so we'll go to Penny over on Twitter and they'll answer some more questions that came in on Instagram. Instagram folks, thanks for asking great questions, so keep them coming. Go ahead, penny.

Speaker 3:

Hey, thank you for listening. Just wanted to thank I know a bunch of the people on here our lovely Twitter family have contributed greatly to our school supply drive for schools in North Carolina that lost everything, and so just want to thank everyone. I'll have totals later with the dozens and dozens of everything, but just what a beautiful community we have here. And then our fundraiser for one of the shelters that we've supported for years. I used to volunteer there. Roxy was from there and Luna's from there. They were hit also by the storm and so we have a fundraiser going on for there, and everyone's just been tremendous in showing their love and support to those in need and so just want to.

Speaker 3:

I know sometimes things on here are not what they used to be, but just really such a wonderful community and spirit. Everyone has to show such a love to people they don't even know. So just wanted to give a shout out to everybody for that, and I've come down with the. Baby has some sort of cold, they can't quite figure it out and I've come down with it as well. So I apologize if I'm a little hard to hear such as things.

Speaker 1:

Penny, just a quick question how is Luna feeling? There's a question on Twitter live.

Speaker 3:

Oh, she is doing okay. We actually late Friday, received word from the cardiologist that she is okay for surgery and so her surgery is scheduled on Wednesday. I'll post more about that tomorrow, but she's doing okay. She's in very good spirits and, interestingly, today when she was out in the yard we have to monitor in the yard because some of our fence came down and some trees came down from the storm she figured out how to get into the woods and she's a hound, so that's not a good thing. She'll get a scent and just go. So we'll have to monitor her a little, maybe with a leash, instead of letting her burn her energy. But she's doing well and as cuddly as ever and as sweet as can be Awesome.

Speaker 1:

Chris, would you mind if you have a second, maybe sharing from Penny's feed? All right, as we close, I want to thank everybody for coming. Chris did a great job with that. I've got Bernoulli here. He's a goober, he is a little. I'm super distracted because he's very cuddly. Okay, that's about it. Thank you for coming everybody. Not the best ending, but Bernoulli is was eating cords, so I'm just keeping him distracted. Okay, we'll see everybody next week.
