Show Notes Transcript Chapter Markers

What do sassy put-downs, pregnant beagles, and dolphins in Antarctica have in common? They're all part of this week's entertaining and informative episode of Pet Chat! We kick things off by sharing Ginger's hilariously sassy interactions with dogs, celebrating a graduation milestone, and testing our knowledge with a fun game of Kahoot Now. We then discuss an amazing study from a recent science podcast that reveals the presence of  life in a deep, cold, dark lake in Antarctica.

As we continue, we delve into international pet stories, exploring potential dangers like rattlesnakes in Africa and wallabies in Australia. We also celebrate the adoption of Honey, a dog that understands Spanish, and examine the science behind dogs' ability to understand language. And if that wasn't enough, we share some exciting news about the Ginger stuffy pre-sale, with proceeds going towards funding underprivileged kids to attend Science Camp.

Finally, we discuss the challenges of naming a pregnant beagle's puppies, dive into the importance of being aware of avian flu and cyanobacteria around our pets, and share some amusing anecdotes about split pants, frozen yogurt, and alligators. We also touch on the art of overstaying jokes and pay tribute to the comedic genius of Leslie Nielsen. So buckle up and get ready for a wild ride through the world of pets on this week's Pet Chat!

Speaker 2: Hello pet enthusiasts, welcome to Pet Chat. My name is Jason Zakowski. I'm the dog dad of Bunsen and Beaker, the science dogs on social media. My co-host is Chris Zakowski, my wife, but she is here in spirit, not in voice. Normally she's the co-host of the space and if things go wrong, her and Donna just throw puns at each other. So we do have that in our back pocket. If things go south, every week on Pet Chat we gather to talk about our pets, we play a game, there's a prize and then there's tons of heartfelt community sharing, which is the fun part.

Speaker 2: Now, if you're listening to the replay, well, hello, i'm glad you are. If this is the first time you see the science podcast, well, i'm so glad to have you. Some exciting news everybody We just moved into number one on Good Pods. For all science podcasts on earth, we're number one, chris. We're ahead of Jason Bateman and Will Arnett podcast. For this week we are number one. We got a huge bump this week from the listeners, i believe, of last week's Pet Chat about pet grief and pet afterlife. So I see Sebastian's here. Dr Ball, Cowboy Cat Ranch, thanks for that. All right, so we normally start with a game and I think that's what we're going to do. We would love for you to play Kahoot Now. I don't know if Chris is playing Kahoot. You may have a chance to win, because Chris has been on fire lately. No, i see her. She is definitely playing Kahoot.

Speaker 3: It's time to go.

Speaker 2: It's the last Pet Chat of May. Wow, this May has gone by so fast. All right, question number one What was Ginger's new put down for the dogs this week? A lot of people seem to like Ginger's sassy put downs useless, kooky canine, walking fleabag, slobbering silly Scooby-Doo or giant oafish carpet. So this came from Tex from Bunsen this week. What did Ginger use as the put down? So okay, so we've got some Tex from Bunsen's fans. Walking Fleabag was the second highest one, but the correct answer was giant oafish carpet. Yeah, because Beaker and Ginger do have a love-hate relationship. They actually kind of cuddle close to each other sometimes, but Bunsen and the Cat are pretty indifferent to each other.

Speaker 2: Oh, Chris is in first. Everybody. We've got Chris in first. Carousel, Henry's human Snake and then Aaron. Next question What was Adam's grad quote?

Speaker 2: Now, Chris does have an advantage to this. What was Adam's grad quote? Adam graduated this week. Thank you to the sidewalk for keeping me off the streets. Gravity was the only thing keeping me down. I'm gonna live in a van down by the river, or at least I didn't get addicted to flavored air. Oh, oh, my god. Chris was the only one who got this right. So all three of those were other grad quotes, but the one that was Adam's was. At least I didn't get addicted to flavored air And for anybody that teaches high school kids or you're around high school kids, that's been the big thing the last three years is those vape pens and kids vaping because they, the stupid companies, put nicotine and all of that stuff. So all of like the kids from middle school up to high school got crazy addicted to vaping. So that was Adam's quote, Okay, Sadly Chris was the only one who got that one right. That was a little bit of insider knowledge. Oh, Chris dropped down to listener, Okay, Okay.

Speaker 2: Next question If you've been following our science facts this week, plastic can be turned into compost vanilla flavor, fake nails, guitars You have. If you've been following our science facts this week, what? what can plastic be turned into? Bum, bum, bum, bum. Hey, yeah, it's vanilla. I don't think it's ready for mass production. But the vanilla flavoring they could mess with the organic molecules within plastic and turn it into a pseudo vanilla flavor. I don't know if it would taste good, I don't know if it's a thing, but North America is really struggling to recycle plastics. Very, a small, small fraction of plastics is recycled. Depending on where you live. It's between 2% and 10%, with the average being around 5%. 5% of all plastics are recycled, which means 95% of plastics go into landfills, incinerated or get thrown into the ocean or waterways. So I guess maybe we can turn a little bit of that into vanilla. Okay, we have some people moving up. Chris is in first, Aaron, Keely, Slime, Shady and Shatzi Mom Next question.

Speaker 2: Next question Adam was trending this week. From people wishing him well for his grad, I should say him, but anyways, Yeah, Adam was trending on Twitter. Who is he trending with? Fish paste, Christina Applegate, the Guardians of the Galaxy or the Debt ceiling One of those things Adam was trending with. He was trending for a while. I guess People were sending us screenshots. Yeah, it was Christina Applegate he was trending with. I don't know what was going on with Christina Applegate, but Adam was trending with Christina Applegate. Thank you for everybody who wished Adam a happy grad. It was pretty surreal for him. I showed him the post and I think it's got over 5,000 likes and the impressions of it is like a quarter of a million people looked at that post, which is pretty banana. So thank you, He appreciated it. He does have a Twitter account though, which he doesn't use.

Speaker 2: Okay, so we've got Chris in first, Katrina, Ivy II, Aaron and Keely. Okay, last question What did scientists find in a deep, cold, dark undersea lake in Antarctica? This is a really cool study from the science podcast this week Dolphins, ancient human tools, microbes eating carbon 14 or radioactive gold One of these things scientists found in a deep, dark, cold lake. Wow, everybody got this. Are you guys listening to the science podcast? That's impressive. Yeah, it was like microbes were eating carbon 14, which can only come from, basically, the sky, So that the carbon 14 came from seawater and was trapped underneath this lake. It's actually a really cool study, And they use this hot water drill for seven days to drill through the ice. That's how thick the ice was to get to this undersea lake, freshwater lake, And there's hundreds of them in Antarctica.

Speaker 2: All right, Chris won. Good job, Chris. Katrina's in second And third is Ivy. Good job, everybody. All right, congratulations. So welcome to Patchat. I'm down like my normal cohost. She's on a bus right now, The fan bus coming back from Adam's marching marching band show. They do a show where they I forget the name of it this year, but they it's called their floor show, So they march around in like Unizen playing instruments and Adams a tuba, and they have to march with precision And they were in Calgary, So that Calgary is a little little bit away. Yeah, Chris, I don't think you're going to be able to connect, I can't. I see you requesting, but you're on a bus. I don't know if it's going to work for you.

Speaker 5: No, Oh, maybe their show is called Hi Octane.

Speaker 2: Hi Octane Okay.

Speaker 5: And very sorry, i didn't want to glitch out, so I wanted to win.

Speaker 2: You wanted to win.

Speaker 5: So I did not exit out or say anything earlier.

Speaker 2: Okay, chris is just a little bit competitive if you're just realizing right now. Yeah, so that's that's where Adam is. Before we get to my pet story this week, i thought we'd give a little shout out to our sponsor. Pet Chat is sponsored by Barkandbeyondsupplycom. Barkandbeyondsupplycom is a small family owned business that started its journey making joint supplements for dogs, and now they have a plethora of treats and toys. If you're thinking about getting something for your pet, your dog or your cat, skip those big box doors everybody and check out Barkandbeyondsupplycom. And they're so generous. Today, guess what, somebody in this space is going to win a $20 gift certificate to their website. So if you're around at the end, i'll have a draw and somebody's going to win that $20 gift card. Pretty cool, okay, so that's our sponsor. I'm just going to throw something up on the nest and talk about it briefly. Until the end of Memorial Day, we've extended the presale for the ginger stuffy. So up in the nest there is, you can click on the link if that's something you're interested in.

Speaker 2: We have these little things like the stuffies or like the text from Bunsen. There are ways that we make a little scratch for all of the content that we do, all of our audio shows are free. The Science Podcast is free, all of our stuff on Twitter is free And Instagram and TikTok all of that stuff we do is for free. So we do have merch and we do have like the stuffy of ginger, which is freaking adorable, and it's the way you can support us. If you like what we do and you like our audio show, we'd love for you to pick up a ginger stuffy For the quality. It's really good And Chris and I are big on giving back. So some proceeds of the presale will go to funding underprivileged kids to Science Camp. We did the same thing with the Bunsen stuffy And we said two kids this year they're going. This summer two kids from our area are going to Science Camp because of everybody's generosity with the Bunsen 2.0 stuffy. So we'd love for you to check that out. Okay, plug over. We have to do a little bit of that, okay.

Speaker 2: So what's going on with the pets this week? Chris can probably share in a second if her audio is good. If you feel, you can talk, chris. So my stories are about having a little bit more time with the dogs this weekend, this week actually. So we had our holiday. I know the Americans have Memorial Day on Monday Tomorrow. We had Victoria Day last Monday And then, because of the way things work out, i had Friday off.

Speaker 2: So I had a very short week this week And I've been spending that with the dogs. It's been really, really rewarding. I've been taking them on extra long walks and not feeling stressed out so we can just take time in different parts of the walk to let beaker swim in the creek or, you know, dig a hole or sometimes, just like Bunsen, will just lay down in the shade and that's okay. I don't feel pressured to. I don't feel pressured to move, move, move. So that's just been my pet story for this week with the dogs. Nothing outrageous, just more time because our lives are very busy and this week is the kind of the calm before the storm because Chris and I are high school teachers. It's going to be a big push to the end. Chris, i don't know if your audio is good enough to share your story.

Speaker 5: I don't know. Can you let me know? Is it okay?

Speaker 2: It's okay, go, i can edit you out if it sounds bad.

Speaker 5: Okay, thank you. So my story is actually one time this week you were not available to go for a walk because Adam and I went for a walk together. I think you had podcast interviews that day.

Speaker 5: Yes, i think I had three interviews back to back to back to back Right And Adam was just exhausted and I said, hey, can you come for a walk with me? And he said okay, and so away we went and we walked around the creek and we came around and we went to beaker's slew, as per usual, and she went an interesting way and she was wiggling her way through the brush and all of a sudden quack, quack. She ferreted out through no fault of her own. She was just playing in there, a duck.

Speaker 2: Oh right, i forgot about that, yeah.

Speaker 5: Don't forget about that. That's pretty important. And so I'm thinking why would that duck be there? We walk here every day. The duck was hiding out and she was bumbling around and then the duck went flying away and got away from her, which is perfect. And then you and I went the next day and I said, hey, let's quietly go around beaker's slew, i want to show you perhaps the duck is still here. And sure enough, the duck looked like, i want to say, pita from the Hunger Games, when he was like perfectly, perfectly camouflaged as a rock, because the duck you couldn't even find a duck in it, but I could.

Speaker 6: I see the ducks right there? I couldn't see the duck You said where?

Speaker 5: Where was the duck Anyway? and then you're like oh, i see its eye. And then beaker went through and she stood away again, but the duck lived to see another day.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's my story. I went a different way. I think we need to go a different way, because I think it's nesting there And the last thing we want is beaker to eat its eggs or something like that. So we'll let nature be where nature is And, yeah, we're going to go a different way. So, sadly, beaker will not have access to beaker slew for a while because a duck has decided to make its nest right on top of beaker slew. But that's okay, we can just go a different way. There's lots of ways to go.

Speaker 5: Well, it's a water source too, right, and so the duck will want to be there swimming and eating and all that stuff that ducks do, and they're so cute.

Speaker 2: Yeah, yep. Well, i'm glad it lived to see another day, because beaker is very fast and triangulates birds right out of the sky. So it would have been definitely a different story if beaker got the duck.

Speaker 5: I definitely would not have shared that story. I would have thought of a different story to share.

Speaker 2: Oh man, There were deer this morning and Bunsen was staring at them And the only thing I can think of is he was like, hmm, I wonder if they need their legs today. That's what I. He was just staring at them, the deer and beaker was barking at them And I was like beaker, they're not scared of you, You're so small, They're just not scared of you. Okay, Um, I think I think we can probably go to community sharing right now.

Speaker 2: We don't. We don't have much of a agenda today, as as Chris has gone um and can't make use of her audio the same way. So we will hop right to community sharing and I'll take the role of Chris as she reads the normally reads the rules. So this is a community space. It is a PG space, less PG. So when Chris is speaking, um, but if you are requesting and we don't know who you are, you may not get up to speak. We'll, we'll do background on you with, uh, but just keep in mind when you're going to go through your profile, And if there's a whole bunch of sketchy stuff, um, you're probably not going to come up, or maybe we, we trust you and you have sketchy stuff.

Speaker 5: So there's a combination there, Um, but yes, this space is not called sketch or us. Like toys or us is not called sketch or us.

Speaker 2: Right? Yes, i love toys, or us, all right. So, if you, what me?

Speaker 5: too. Yeah, you too. It's cool, but I don't it's so good in there, um, but it's not sketch or us, and that's why there are spaces called such and community sharing pets.

Speaker 2: That's right. Um, we could maybe talk about Adam's grad later. Uh, jamie, go ahead. I think Chris brought you up, hello.

Speaker 7: I prefer microphone, wouldn't turn on.

Speaker 2: There you go, we can hear you now.

Speaker 7: Good morning. It's the end of autumn here for us, okay, so it was 10 degrees this morning, so for us that's pretty bloody cold. Sorry, i have the sketchy stuff, but you still, you still talk to me, so you know that's, that's nice. Um, i've been insanely busy with work recently So the dogs haven't got as many walks as they should have. But um went for a walk I think it was Friday afternoon Took them for a walk And as we were walking home I um Jenna normally goes off lead because she's she's old and essentially three legged and doesn't can't taste anything anymore.

Speaker 7: And I'm working on Rose being off lead more often. We can't trust River off lead because he's just insane, anyway. So I left Rose off lead and you're mentioning the deer going past and a wallaby moved um in somebody's front yard and Rose just took off after it And I'm like, oh, no, cause she is in, she is crazy fast as well, but fortunately wallabies are faster. She couldn't catch it And she came back going Oh, i chased it away. I chased it away. I'm a big, brave girl. Um, the the thing to be wary of is, if it was a, a buck wallaby, any of the male wallabies, they will kill a dog.

Speaker 2: Do they, do they choke them, like grab them and choke them, or do they kick them?

Speaker 7: They kick the kick the rubbish out of them, yes, yeah, so, um, and apart from seeing where they're, jenna Taylor is you can always tell a male wallaby, because their chest is like twice the width of a female. Oh, they look. they look really buff.

Speaker 2: Yeah, they're like ripped, aren't they? They look like body builders.

Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah. So even the wallabies which are smaller than kangaroos, the male wallabies still, you still give them a bit of a wide berth, just because they can be a bit grumpy, given, given the opportunity.

Speaker 2: Okay, so pro tip, so she was yeah, that's it.

Speaker 7: She went for a chase after a wallaby. um missed it, fortunately. but this morning, uh, my husband's having a big sleep in this morning, so they haven't had breakfast, so they're all starving to death. Poor things They're starving. never been fed in their lives. And I think he's just moving now. It's half past 10 on Sunday morning, so, and for a cool morning, it's nice to sleep in.

Speaker 2: Yeah.

Speaker 7: Yes, thank you very much. Have a lovely evening.

Speaker 2: Thanks, jamie. That's an odd problem to have, um, but I think every country has its different issues, like it says. Just a bigger issue for us Like, i am always super wary of running into moose when I'm out with the dogs. Um, because moose would kill a dog. They would, they would chomp them to death. Um, you have to be careful about that. And if you have a little dog there have been little dogs that have been killed by beaver They go after a beaver and the beaver is just like not today and just chomp and that's the end of your little dog. Like, that's happened in Red Deer a few times.

Speaker 2: Um, so I can, like, every ecosystem has its things. That's not super, super friendly to a dog. I'd imagine, like, if you're from the continent of Africa, depending on where you are, there's some, some stuff there that'll get rid of your dog. Um, and, of course, we talked to a snake, a rattlesnake expert, this Tuesday and, uh, that's that's some things that you got to be careful about. There's poisonous snakes all over the place that cats and dogs are not really known. If they're not, they don't not trained not to go up to it. They're like Oh, this looks like fun to play with And then they get bit. So and I met I guess in Australia you've got snakes and wallaby to worry about- Yeah, snakes and wallabies and, um, he are feral pigs as well.

Speaker 7: That not only will kill the dog, they'll kill me.

Speaker 2: They're um, they're. Feral pigs are a problem everywhere.

Speaker 7: Yeah, yeah, i. I occasionally run into them while I'm working as well. Oh, And like two weeks ago, hiding behind a tree that was sort of about as wide as my arm with three pigs that were as high as my hip, and I'm like, oh God, i'm just going to die, oh, no, Luckily we haven't run into any.

Speaker 2: There's feral pigs or feral hogs in Alberta, but we haven't seen them anywhere.

Speaker 7: Yeah, no, i was out in the scrub by myself and sort of made a few rar noises to try and scare them away, and that didn't scare them, and then I saw the size of them and I swore very, very loud And they ran away. So maybe they don't like. Maybe they don't like foul language.

Speaker 2: Well, there you go. So pro tip, pro tip. Number two swear at the pigs. Okay, thanks, jamie, we'll go to Donna and then Sarah, donna, hello.

Speaker 8: Hi. Well, down here we don't swear at the pigs, we shoot them and tell them we're going to eat them. So they are. They are the size of Volkswagen's down here. And then I'm sorry I missed your snake chat, but I have a healthy fear and respect of snakes and sharks and lightning, and I I don't. There's no such thing as a good snake. They'll tell me that all the time. In my opinion, no, we have more poisonous species of every single kind of spider. Snake plants is here in Texas, so we're going to kill you down here.

Speaker 8: So I just, i, just I just want to say to Jamie and to you, jason it's really awesome that this pet chat goes international. So nowhere on God's green earth are my listening to a podcast in the US and I'm hearing about wallabies and looking like supermodels and kangaroos and the dingo ate my baby. It's, it's, it's fascinating. And then, you know, you get somebody from Spain who's going to tell you about the Orca sink and boats. So I just think it's awesome to be able to hear the stories from other peeps around the world. So well done. I'm surprised this Twitter space isn't number one, but you know we're going to promote the heck out of you either way. So if they ever run, i know it's coming.

Speaker 8: So my pet story obviously I travel for work. As everybody knows, i did build a patio for Patty or for Cali so she can go outside, because she hollers to go me out all the time and it's perfect weather. So, like you guys, i built a patio and she's like nope. So I think if she's gotten older she wants to not be lost and stay in the lifestyle She's become accustomed to, but she won't go out. And then my other funny story is my cousin's adopted a dog named honey. That was your, your person that was. I can't remember her name and I'm sorry for this, but she lives on the border of Texas and Mexico and there's a lot of dogs that need saving and rescue, right now.

Speaker 2: Oh, i can't remember either. Yeah, she had a really good story, yeah.

Speaker 8: Exactly. So my cousin did just that and adopted a dog named honey and they and they said that this dog is perfectly trained, potty train, knows all the commands right. So they're telling honey to sit or come here or whatever, and the dog's not doing a dang thing. So I'm sitting there talking to the dog, it's wagging its tail, pet, pet, pet, and I go sit and I'm trying to give her a treat, not happening. And then I said where's this dog from? And they said Oh, we got it from the shelter, blah, blah, blah. So I said in Spanish, to sit, because I speak Spanish fluently. And the dog sat There. You go, yeah. So I said Hey, cousin, this dog speaks Spanish, so you need to learn. Come sit, stay, and that's fun Y'all. So I just thought that was kind of a funny story, that's amazing.

Speaker 2: I did a deep dive into dogs and understanding language on the science podcast. It's one of my feet. I did a tech talk about it too And the tech talk did really well. And the cool thing is that if a dog is taught commands and is around Spanish speaking people, when they go to an English house and somebody says sit, they may not know that sit is sit in the language that they know, but the cool thing is the dog knows that that word is language. The part of their brain that that that has the executive functioning for language is the same one as in our brain and they both kind of light up when they're scanned. Sorry, i nerded out there for a second, but it's just so cool.

Speaker 8: That's fascinating And usually you would say you know me being somebody who is also, you know, a coach of restaurant people. You know you have to show, tell, do and review, and then I teach a lot and it's all in tone, right. So you probably think it's the tone, but it's not, because that word is really long in Spanish. So like we're saying sit, and it could be something similar to sit in Norwegian, but you know, in Spanish it's the end to say So it's not like a small word, it's a word, a long word.

Speaker 2: Yeah, and it sounds completely different to 100%.

Speaker 8: So I was like telling it to go lay down you know. And then my cousin's like you need to write this down. I said Babel is your friend.

Speaker 2: So what happened. That's in German.

Speaker 8: Oh, i was like what happened. I thought I turned on Google translate. Yeah, you know your phone's listening.

Speaker 2: Sit.

Speaker 8: in Norwegian sounds like this That's not bad, that's like the same. And the way you say thanks in Norwegian is to syntax This I know, so I'm practicing for when I go in November, but I just want to say it's awesome, that's international, and Jamie's hanging out on the Sunday morning with everybody starving And we've had people on in England and it's 2am And I just think that's really cool, because a pet is a pet no matter where you are in the world, and how you treat them says a lot about you. But it's just funny to hear wallabies and crikey There's a croc, you know whatever it is. Or the dingo ate my baby. I just think it's awesome. So that's it for me.

Speaker 2: Thanks, donna, jamie, go ahead. Your hand was up, yeah.

Speaker 7: I'm going to say thank you so much, donna. I do. I appreciate listening to your stories too, and I'm going to know that briefly too. You don't have poisonous snakes and spiders unless you're eating them in your restaurants. You should actually have venomous snakes and spiders because that's true, That's the correct term.

Speaker 8: But you know, in Texas we don't say venomous. would be really hard for us to say it's hiking, biking, riding, reading. There's no G on anything, Jamie.

Speaker 7: We have no T's or G's either, so, yeah, okay, so we'll get along great, i tried to come down there actually in November, and the plane ticket was super expensive.

Speaker 8: That's why I'm going to Norway instead. But one of these days I'm going to get down there and I'm going to look you up, but yeah we have a lot of venomous things that will kill you, including plants. So it's I mean I'm sitting there doing rhymes all the time like red touches yellow kills a fellow red touches black friend of Jack. Like I'm like looking at these snakes.

Speaker 2: Oh Donna, you should have. you should have come to the space, because Dr Taylor went through some of that and it's not always correct. to that The little rhyme.

Speaker 8: Well, i mean it's true, but I've been singing it since I was a little, or, as some of the foreigners say, a we last down here, because I mean I come across the nest of water moccasins, i've come across the nest of copperheads. It is scary in the horror stories you hear of somebody going water skiing and goes underwater for 30 seconds and comes up dead because they hit a nest of water moccasins, i mean it's, i'm terrified And you would have thought I was Jesus Christ walking on water. One time when I was tubing down a river and saw one, i was standing on top of the tube, not falling in, not no.

Speaker 2: So well, all we have, all we have up here is leeches, so we're good in the water up here in Canada.

Speaker 7: That's gross too, but yeah, we do have dingoes and we do have crocodiles, but neither of them are venomous nor poisonous, so yeah, but they ate the baby, so that's from the dingo And my baby, so we remember that It's from our efforts. It's actually. it's from Lindy Chamberlain, the mother of a Zaria Chamberlain, whose baby did die Anywho. we had a dingo and our baby bit it.

Speaker 8: Oh my God. But I will say, on the food safety note, those who live in the Pacific Northwest that includes Vancouver be careful of Taco Bell. Right now They have a huge hepatitis A outbreak and a few people have died already. So I will admit that sometimes, instead of eating fancy, i go get a little Taco Bell, which my nickname is toxic smell. But yeah, it's getting people super sick right now, so please be careful.

Speaker 2: Thanks, Donna. All right, we'll go to Sarah's next. Hello Sarah.

Speaker 6: Hi, how are you?

Speaker 2: We're good.

Speaker 6: Great. I guess I have news. We have a pregnant baby Beagle, i think I told you earlier, but we're sharing it worldwide now via your space. We don't know what to call them because it's Charlie and Daisy and Charlie's so many Aussie and Daisy's a Beagle, so we don't know if we should call them Bossies or Sheagles.

Speaker 2: What a problem to have.

Speaker 6: It really is, and she's tiny, tiny, tiny. She's 20 pounds or whatever. that is in real math, in Canadian math, and Charlie is almost 50 pounds.

Speaker 2: But wait, if we're using American math, how many feral hogs is it?

Speaker 6: Oh well, i don't know how big a feral hog is.

Speaker 2: I'm just teasing.

Speaker 6: She is about Daisy is the size of Bunsen's head.

Speaker 2: Okay. And so tiny.

Speaker 6: Charlie is about half the size of Beaker. So, I want to know if there's any experts that will tell me about how many puppies they think she'll have.

Speaker 2: You should have a tiny. You could have a contest even.

Speaker 6: I should. She doesn't get to go to the vet until next week, but we've noticed that she's getting so chunky and that's what tipped us off And she can't jump up on the bed anymore Because she's gotten so chubby.

Speaker 2: So, sarah, was this a planned pregnancy or was this an oopsie?

Speaker 6: It was an oopsie, Charlie. she went into heat. We didn't expect her to go into heat. I don't know why, but she went into heat at the mid-March and it lasted all the way until about the end of March And Charlie got fixed in April.

Speaker 2: Oh no, oh no.

Speaker 6: And we caught them. We caught them Candlelight and soft music, out in the backyard And I said to my husband I was like no, no, you know what, the first time doesn't count. Well, it does, people, it does.

Speaker 1: So, baby don't hurt, me Don't hurt me.

Speaker 6: Oh, you got the news, no more.

Speaker 2: I've got, i got. I got some stuff on the sound board for when this stuff starts happening.

Speaker 6: There you go. You should have played careless whisper, but they, we don't know. Sorry, sarah, oh my gosh, i love it. Sheagles or bossies, what do you think, jason?

Speaker 2: I like bossy, It's sassy and yeah, sheagle sounds like shingles. She's got a disease. You know my husband liked bossy.

Speaker 6: Yeah, bossy's cool And I picked sheagle and he was like it sounds like seagull. Oh, she's having a litter of you know, like flying rats. No, we're not saying that.

Speaker 2: Well, well, i think it will be bossy because Aussies are like, energetic and like they like to talk, and beagles can be. you don't want to say stubborn, but willful, so I think it would be bossy.

Speaker 6: I will say she does. They will not do anything unless it's for food. Nothing, This girl. She won't sit, She won't come, She won't do anything unless you say do you want num-nums? And she knows what num-nums is and she'll come running for num-nums.

Speaker 2: Well, you know what we can do right now. Just give me a second here. I'll make a poll and I'll put it in the nest for everybody. Okay, we can do that.

Speaker 6: Here's. The other thing is that my husband they haven't even been born yet And this man is like do you think we should keep one or two? And I said zero, we should keep zero, that's how many we keep. And so he's like, well, i don't know, i think one is really cute, we'll at least keep one. Of course he's going to think one is cute. Who doesn't think a puppy is cute? So we might have four dogs. Jason, i might need to go into a dog relocation program, put my husband in one where he can just sit on a dog reserve or something.

Speaker 2: Okay, so how would you spell bossy?

Speaker 6: B-A-U-S-S-I-E like beagle-ossy.

Speaker 2: Gotcha Okay, bossy.

Speaker 6: I'll tell you right now.

Speaker 2: Sheagle auto-corrects to seagull. Of course it does, because she'll, she's, she's, it's S-H-L. right, it's S-H-E-A-G-L-E. Okay, beagle, but with an S-H, what?

Speaker 6: do you think I will deliver within a hundred miles to anyone that wants a bossy or a sheagle And we have to take them from my husband because I cannot deal with this? Oh, my goodness. So we cannot have. But I'm hoping that she has a very small litter and doesn't have like 45 dogs, because I may end up with 45 dogs.

Speaker 2: It's a smaller breed So they generally don't have a giant litter right. The bigger breeds that have bigger letters like Bunsen's letter was enormous that he came from.

Speaker 6: How many were Bunsen's?

Speaker 2: Like five or six or No more. Ten, no, ten, ten, yeah, nine or ten, chris. Is that right? That's right, isn't it? Nine or ten? That was in Bunsen's. Well, maybe she can't speak.

Speaker 5: Well, I'm thinking there was probably ten.

Speaker 7: Yeah.

Speaker 5: Yes, eight to ten, and they were the cutest things that we've ever seen.

Speaker 2: I've told the story before but I burst out crying because we went there and they're all little Bunsen's, just like everywhere. I just couldn't take it.

Speaker 5: I couldn't take it. They were really really little panda bears. How?

Speaker 6: many little, little beakers were there.

Speaker 2: It was during COVID, so we didn't get to see anything. So we only saw photos and then they kind of like scooted her out the door and we scooped her up and then we had beaker. So yeah, it was completely different.

Speaker 6: Oh well, we're going to screen really well, we don't want them going to just anybody and we know that they're not like since they're not a I don't know a designer breed. You know they're not something that any. They're not like a Bernese mountain dog or, you know, golden retrievers. They're sort of like a crazy mix. So you know, it's not like there's going to be demand, but they are going to be the cutest little puppies in the world. We think they're going to be like like fuzzy beagles. I can't wait.

Speaker 2: I can't wait, Sarah. I just, I just love puppies. It doesn't matter.

Speaker 6: Oh, I do too So everybody.

Speaker 2: I've put a poll up in the nest. Right now, Bossy is at 61% and we've had 20, 38 people vault.

Speaker 6: So you can't make my husband right people Team Sheagle, but we'll post lots of pictures. She's as big around as she is tall.

Speaker 3: Oh, my God.

Speaker 6: She's just so cute right now, but she's really spunky and doesn't like anybody to come near her at times, so she growls and barks at us. So we forgive her because she's fat and pregnant and she just wants to be left alone.

Speaker 2: I remember somebody who was kind of growly when they were expecting as well.

Speaker 6: You must not be talking about Chris. It has to be a neighbor because I'm telling you, you still have to go home with this woman.

Speaker 5: Yeah, i'm not home right now, but wait till I get home, then you'll see growly.

Speaker 2: See, I can. I feel safe, cause she is actually not at home right now.

Speaker 5: Yeah, you can say what it is.

Speaker 2: How come your audio is way better? Where are you?

Speaker 5: I'm sitting outside of Parkland Mall.

Speaker 2: That's a weird place to be.

Speaker 5: It isn't because Adam has a work party at Staples.

Speaker 2: Oh, okay, all right.

Speaker 5: And he said I have a work party. And I said really, And I said when? And he said right now. So we left the school and I've dropped him off and I'm just waiting for confirmation that all is good. Okay, they're going to go away. Party for a manager.

Speaker 2: And I got. Yes, i remember him mentioning that.

Speaker 1: All right.

Speaker 2: Well, Sarah, thank you for sharing that. That was a hilarious, funny and interactive story for everybody.

Speaker 5: That was awesome. Also, jason, there is Kathy Ellen in the chat. Said that she's not hearing you. Can you do a audio check to see if everybody else is able?

Speaker 2: to hear you. Oh, no, sarah obviously was.

Speaker 5: I hear you, but maybe there's other people having issues hearing you.

Speaker 2: I haven't checked.

Speaker 5: Facebook.

Speaker 2: I haven't checked Facebook lately, but there's people laughing about Sarah's story. They're using emojis. Okay, if you can't hear me, give me a thumbs down. No, wait, that doesn't make sense, because if you can't hear me, you're not going to hear to do the thumbs down. That's stupid. If you can hear me, just do an emoji, okay.

Speaker 5: They're laughing at you. Yeah, because that was dumb.

Speaker 2: That's like, oh, i've lost my phone, i'll just call it, i'll just text my phone. And it's the stupidest thing when you don't have your phone and you're like, well, i'll just call it, and you're like, wait a second, that's not going to happen.

Speaker 5: Yeah, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, we'll go to Tracy and then to Karen. Tracy, hello. Hi guys, hi hi, how's everyone doing Good? How are you Tracy?

Speaker 4: I'm good, i just got done with work So I'm going to be going home in a minute. Just wanted to give a little Ricky update. Not much going on with him He was. Of course he eats his food too fast, so we did that this morning, which is always a good time, but he's been a snuggle monster like normal and we are otherwise both happy.

Speaker 2: Okay, i am wearing a Band-Aid, chris, right now.

Speaker 5: Don't you mean sissy sticker?

Speaker 2: Yes, I am a sissy sticker person.

Speaker 5: That's what grandkids are.

Speaker 2: So I was cutting up. When people buy stuffies if you've bought a stuffie from us a Bunsen or Beaker stuff you get like their certificate, which has like a little science experiment on the back of it. It's just like an extra little thing that comes with it. So I was chopping them up and there's all these like long paper strands that were left over.

Speaker 5: Jason.

Speaker 2: What, what.

Speaker 5: Jason, oh, I thought you cut yourself on my cutter.

Speaker 2: I did. I cut my finger off. I don't have a finger anymore.

Speaker 5: That's not true.

Speaker 2: No, that's not what I'm gonna say, no, that's not where I was going.

Speaker 5: Because I'm like that's pretty foolproof not to cut yourself on that cutter.

Speaker 2: Yeah, i don't even know how you would cut yourself on that cutter. but no, but that's not what happened. So I have all okay. well, i've got all of these long pieces of paper and I was working on content and I have to. it's just like to make a long story short. I have to download stuff to then post it. So there's a lot of like wait time because our internet is so terrible. It's, the worst part about doing videos is our internet. But anyways, ginger sleeps on my computer bag right beside me when I work.

Speaker 2: So I was like dangling this piece of string and she was having so much fun like biting at it and like plying it, And then her claw got me and stuck into my finger and it went so deep she was stuck to my finger. It hurts so bad, chris, like Velcro, yeah, like you know how cats cling to fabric, that's what her. she did that to my finger with one of her claws And I was like ow and I pulled it back and yanked her with it and made the wound even worse And then it was bleeding everywhere. I couldn't believe how much I bled from that little cat.

Speaker 5: So I thought you were going to say that you got cut by a paper strip. I thought you were going to say you got a paper cut from all those strips that you were talking about.

Speaker 2: No.

Speaker 5: This story is gone in very many different directions, Anyway. so you got clawed.

Speaker 2: Well, i did say that because if somebody came into the space just as I was saying, i cut my finger off. they'd be like whoa, what's going on here? I'm going to stay and listen. That's called clickbait, but audio bait Okay, that's stupid.

Speaker 5: How'd you cut your finger?

Speaker 2: Okay, but anyways let's go to Karen and then Kathy. Karen, thanks for waiting patiently.

Speaker 3: I'm not sure I can follow that. Good evening, Happy Saturday everyone.

Speaker 2: Hello.

Speaker 3: So I just want to say well one. I love listening to Jamie because it reminds me of when I was in Australia and spent the five years I spent there And the first thing seeing, getting off the airplane, seeing a sign about the 22,000 things that can kill you in Australia, which is always reassuring. So, and I did learn the difference between venomous and poisonous and the appropriate use of both there. But I will freely admit that when I saw the picture of the snake earlier in the week, i immediately was going to my mind of like wait, is it red and yellow or red and black? And singing the song in my head. Yeah.

Speaker 3: I just the story about the duck and beaker chasing ducks earlier made me want to just say something about, because I know you guys take excellent care of the dogs and the wildlife in general.

Speaker 3: But I just wanted to mention because I'm doing some work at work, obviously, about avian influenza and what it spread through everywhere basically, and we're working on an outreach project like to talk to people who are raising backyard flocks and things like that. But one of the things that we looked at was about the risk to dogs and cats and things like that, and the biggest risk is if our dogs or cats chase after or for hunting either chase after birds or are retrieving birds for us when we're hunting and then they get dead birds that have been infected with avian influenza And then it's somewhat of a risk to them. So I just wanted to mention that because I know you guys are really careful and cautious of things anyway, but I thought it would also be a good opportunity to let other people know that we should keep an eye on what our dogs and cats get up to and reduce their tendencies to chase birds just to reduce the risk that they might get something, because they're more likely to catch one that's a bird, that's sick than one.

Speaker 2: That's a bird, karen. It's transferable to dogs, is that correct? Like the avian flu can jump to dogs, they're like. there's a chance of that, i believe.

Speaker 3: There is a chance of dogs or cats getting avian flu. The ones that have had the H5N1 avian influenza so far, it appears that they got it because they were carrying or ate part of carcasses of birds that had been sick.

Speaker 2: Gotcha yeah, Well, and some So it's so traceable to those birds.

Speaker 3: But we still don't wanna have our dogs and cats getting sick either.

Speaker 2: Gotcha. yep, no, that's good. I mean it's in places where we live. I've heard rumblings of the avian flu, so it's not isolated to just one area of the world for sure.

Speaker 3: No, it's everywhere and spreading, and it's in different species of mammals. but we just are keeping an eye on it for how it spreads everywhere And what we can do. but the main thing is trying to protect their birds as best we can from it and then keeping an eye on how it's spreading or keeping it from spreading to other mammals, which will help keep it from mutating to being able to spread from human to human Gotcha. So anyway, i just wanted to mention that and help spread that word to everyone else too.

Speaker 2: so Okay, thanks, karen. No worries, thanks. That's a good PSA. The other PSA that's coming is for those of you around standing water watch out for cyanobacteria. That's the incorrectly named blue-green algae. So you gotta watch out for that. That is super dangerous for dogs. Okay, we'll go to Kathy. Kathy, thanks for waiting patiently.

Speaker 9: Hi, sure, no problem. This has been so interesting tonight. What I wanted hi Donna, hi Paula, i finally can see icons and everything on my phone. It's like hi Karen, hi everybody. I wanted to share kind of a cute story.

Speaker 9: It's not necessarily our dog in our home, but my nephew recently got married about a month ago, and he and his wife are avid outdoors people, so for their honeymoon they rented an RV. They have a Husky Mixed Dog. So the three of them took off and a pre-planned camping trip up through California, the coast and then up through Tahoe and then into Idaho and Montana and then down into Utah I'm sorry, arizona, which is where they are now. So they get to Arizona and they're at this campsite in Arizona and there's this dog that's just randomly wandering around and taking handouts from people. And Alex and Devon ask around and they find out that this dog is abandoned and he has no home and he's just been living on handouts from the campers and the campsite and I think there's a general store there or whatever. So they now have a second dog. They took this dog in and they're coming home with them and apparently he gets along really well with Scout. They're a Husky Mixed and it's just such a great story And they sent pictures today.

Speaker 9: He's a big dog, he's like a pit mix. He's white with black spots, but he's a big, muscular dog. But they get along really well and it's just such an awesome story and it's just such a great I think exemplar of what humans can do to care and nurture animals. When we see animals that are disadvantaged like that. It's just anyway, i just wanted to share. It's just such a cute story.

Speaker 2: I love my family. That is an amazing story, Kathy. that's a great story.

Speaker 9: I'm so proud of them. I've known these kids since they were babies. When I met my husband, alex was two years old and now he's full grown, he's a firefighter and his wife is an emergency nurse. And to see all these kids in our family grow up and it's just. I just love our kids and our family and they're the best people ever. So happy, happy times.

Speaker 2: I love it Yeah Very proud, that's awesome.

Speaker 9: Yeah, by the way, congratulations with Adam. Yes, he's loved. I was gonna send you a tweet but I thought it was a little bit awkward. But what I was gonna say was it was a little bit awkward for Adam to see tweets where everybody in the world loves him and loves you and loves your dogs, when he's never met these people. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2: It is. I think it is a little weird for him and it's odd for us too, but we're just normal people. Like we're not. We're just absolutely normal people. So we just happen to. We just happen to have dogs and an account that resonates with people.

Speaker 9: I think that's what exactly. I think that's what speaks to people is that you're natural, normal people and you convey things so well and the science is fascinating and you connect the dogs and the dogs connect with kids and it's just such a great platform that you've created and it's just wonderful. It's very relatable. Yes.

Speaker 2: Oh, thank you. Yeah, that one post has 240 comments and 100,000 impressions, so I showed Adam that and so many people were commenting so quickly. That's why it started to trend, yeah, so yeah, he was pretty funny Yeah well, good job. Thanks, kathy. We're pretty proud of him. Chris, are you able to talk? Did you wanna say anything that you weren't able when you were on the bus and it was loud? or are you driving?

Speaker 5: I'm still sitting outside staples. I texted Adam to say all good question mark and have not heard back.

Speaker 2: Okay.

Speaker 5: And you know who I am. Like I do not leave anywhere unless I know like the plan is safe. You know me, if I'm driving someone home, i make sure that I see them physically go into their house, all of that stuff. So I've just been sitting here patiently with Annalise. Annalise has texted him as well, but we have not heard back. But Annalise said that she doesn't have anywhere to be, so she doesn't mind. Maybe she minds a little. There's maybe a little bit of minding.

Speaker 2: Well, she can. Maybe she's listening to Pet Chat, maybe.

Speaker 5: Well, we were listening to Pet Chat together. Yes, yes, yes, we are, but she's not running out of the car, so that's good.

Speaker 2: Adam and Annalise sure looked nice at the grad. They do the grad prom and the grad march and they all get dressed up. But Adam did a dance move and the first like one second of the dance and split his pants like crazy.

Speaker 5: Really badly.

Speaker 2: Like so bad, really bad He texted he's like mom. He texted me.

Speaker 5: Can you bring me some pants?

Speaker 2: Yeah, he texted me and he's like can mom bring me pants? And I'm like what He's like, i ripped my pants. So, instead of taking it seriously, i just the first thing I did was I texted him the GIF of SpongeBob ripping his pants.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 2: So yeah.

Speaker 5: I ripped my pants. Anyway, I drove all the way to the school with the new pants. I'm disappointed in the pants.

Speaker 2: Yes, me too. They should not rip for what they were worth. I'll tell you that.

Speaker 5: That's well. Well, annalise based it over. She's like the dance that Adam was doing. He was not, he didn't care.

Speaker 2: Oh well, I'm going to tell you right now, if they were Costco pants, that wouldn't have happened.

Speaker 5: It would not have happened Because I don't know what those Costco pants are made of.

Speaker 2: They're good pants.

Speaker 5: They are good pants, but you know interesting We need to get sponsored by Costco.

Speaker 2: For me saying that Every time.

Speaker 5: I talk Interesting.

Speaker 2: Go ahead, sorry.

Speaker 5: Thank you. Interestingly enough, the other person who wore the same suit as Adam is named Arthur and he is a red deer royal And I saw him today and I said, hey, can I ask you a question? And he said yeah, for sure. I said how long did your pants last during the evening of grad? And he said my pants lasted all evening.

Speaker 2: I don't think Arthur was going to be busting a move like Adam, though.

Speaker 5: That's what Ava said. That's what all the other kids around there like.

Speaker 2: Actually, Adam was not holding anything back with his dance moves, he deserved the busting of the pants. Okay.

Speaker 5: It was bust a move. That's for sure, for sure. Do you have bust a move on your roadcaster?

Speaker 2: What is bust a move.

Speaker 5: It's a song.

Speaker 2: Is it?

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 2: Bust a move.

Speaker 8: If you want it, you got it.

Speaker 2: Young MC bust a move.

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 2: Bust a move. Well, i did bring Keith up, so we should go to Keith though.

Speaker 9: Yes.

Speaker 2: Go ahead, Keith. Thanks for waiting. We get off topic.

Speaker 1: Hi, i just had a couple of quick things. Down here in Alabama It's getting really hot And one thing I do for my dog is I make these frozen yogurt cups And they're really good. I use plain nonfat yogurt, some banana and some peanut butter and put it in a blender and then put it in a yogurt cup and freeze it, and it gives him something to do. They lick on it and he seems to really enjoy it.

Speaker 2: I would eat that, Keith. That sounds delicious.

Speaker 1: Yeah And Yeah, eat those ந. Yeah, you, it's. It's a lot cheaper than trying to buy them, you know, at the store. So yeah. The other thing I wanted to ask is I heard this week what the oldest, how old the oldest dog was.

Speaker 2: I heard nobody know. I heard that too. I couldn't believe it. Go ahead, keith.

Speaker 1: Yeah, go ahead the dog is 31 years old, yeah, and I believe. his name is Bobi and he lives in Portugal.

Speaker 2: Yes, i, i saw that and I couldn't believe it and so I tried to fact check it. And major like Guinness, the Guinness World Record people verified it. So, like that, yeah, it's pretty legit if you, if the Guinness World Records, verified it.

Speaker 1: Yeah, i tried to do the same thing and I was looking at some major Outlets. You know we're publishing the story, so I figured it's got to be real.

Speaker 2: No, it is like, yeah, he was born. Yeah, no, he's, he's 31 and he was born in on May 1992.

Speaker 1: Yeah, I think the guy that owns him said he was seven years old when they got him and now he's 38.

Speaker 2: That's unbelievable, unbelievable.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah and another thing I wanted to mention that you had mentioned about how great this Ankylosaurus was. Yeah, I looked it up and it looks like a potato with legs.

Speaker 2: It's near and dear to my heart, the Ankylosaurus. Yeah, it's an armored dinosaur.

Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, and that's all I had.

Speaker 2: Yeah, it's about the size of a car And you know what. It is not for everybody, but I do like. I do like saying it to paleontologists To get a rise out of them, because it's always not their favorite dinosaur. They always got one. That's way better, and sometimes I get them to debate with me, which is kind of fun.

Speaker 1: I Had never heard of until you mentioned it.

Speaker 2: Chris knows I talk about the Ankylosaurus quite a bit, the head and the had resources. Maybe Chris is driving.

Speaker 5: I'm not driving, but there's no party. This is why you don't drive away. I'm gonna find out more information about what is going on. Don't put that board. Doesn't work out of this story. You have to go in the store.

Speaker 1: Okay, oh, i could mention one. One last thing. Go ahead, keith. We were talking about habitats and stuff, and I live here in North Alabama and, yeah, you wouldn't think of it, we got alligators here. There's some swampy areas and I just read on our next-door app today that an alligator got a Labrador and attacked and killed it today, and It's an area that's marked with signs that says they're alligators in the area, but It's. It's something I would never let my dog run free there, for sure. Yeah, but yeah, it was a real shock That you know it. That would happen here.

Speaker 2: You just have to be aware. As a pet owner, you have to be so aware of your surroundings, like when we are in the mountains. Bunsen and beaker are always on leash because I don't know like. I have personally run into bears 15 times in my life 12 to 15 times, sometimes far away, sometimes very close, and the last thing you want is your dog to be off leash. And then there's a bear, because you know you never know what will happen. Maybe they'll go up to the bear, maybe the bear will run away, maybe the bears are so big and powerful It doesn't take much to Boof and that's the end of your dog. So yeah, keith, you just got to look, you just got to know When your dog should be off leash and you need to know your surroundings. That's a good point. Okay, chris, do you have anything else? We don't have any other speakers. There's so many comments in the chat.

Speaker 5: I did. I read through all the comments and there was nothing pressing about there's some cute pictures though. There is yes. Yeah, so there wasn't any questions or comments coming out of the chat.

Speaker 2: Perfect, okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 5: Okay, do you have anything else to add?

Speaker 2: No, no, it sounds like you're driving, So you probably Well, no I just pulled into park.

Speaker 5: I just pulled into park because I did. I did figure everything out. Adam went to the party, had some food It was a, it was a five, five minute party I can't minutes max and then he ate the food and now he's back in the car, so we will be heading home.

Speaker 2: Okay, very shortly, that is. That is the world's shortest party.

Speaker 3: It was the world's shortest party.

Speaker 1: Well, people are staying to play games, but I don't know how to play magic. The gathering.

Speaker 2: Oh, it is super complicated, adam.

Speaker 1: There was supposed to be super smash bros, but they're doing that tomorrow or something.

Speaker 2: I don't know well, you kill everybody at that game. You're super.

Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just the kid, like the IB kids that I teach, there's, like always a contingent of them that are into this game called magic the gathering. It's a card game, very complicated rules, where, like, this card has this power and it can defeat your card And but your card has this power and it makes another card really powerful. So they play it and they're just like start screaming at each other because it gets super competitive. Very complicated rules. They tried to get me to play one day and I was like I don't know what I'm doing. I'm like, can I play this skeleton? and they're low, what they're like no, why would you play that skeleton? And I'm like it looks cool, can't I just play my coolest cards? and they're like, no, you can't do that. I was like, oh, i don't know, maybe I'm not cut out for this, this game.

Speaker 2: You might not be, but you could make trading cards for Bunsen and beaker, that's that's on my list and I am, you know, in the background I have a list of things I'm working on and it may not come out this year, obviously, because I'm swamped. But I do have ideas for a board game, a Bunsen and beaker board game, because with our cricket and with my 3d printer I could make I deaf and then we could source the box. I could definitely make a, a board game called eternal winter, which I'm really excited about. I've kind of like sketched out the plan for it. You build little, you gather little parts of the machine to make eternal winter, and maybe there's trivia cards, maybe it's like settlers of katan, which is a complicated game But not anywhere near magic the gathering, and I think, i think it would be really fun.

Speaker 2: Gotta go around the farm and Defeat coyotes and watch out for porcupines. You know, just random stuff from Bunsen and beaker's life. Okay, what's that? yes, and roosters, yes, the roosters. Yeah, well, we were wondering, like if every character could play Like a monopoly, so every character has a mover. So you could be ginger, bunsen, beaker, buster, carl or Sagan. You know, you don't know which one you are. You could be Carl and or Sagan and then in monopoly, at least when I played monopoly, everybody fought over the car. There was like this car and My siblings we'd all fight over who got to be the car, and I think in other families It's different. Like I think, chris, you said, you guys fought over the shoe. I don't know if you can speak, but No, like the thimble.

Speaker 2: Oh, the thimble like there's little pieces people would fight over.

Speaker 7: So I imagine Yeah, we wanted the dog.

Speaker 2: Yeah, people would probably fight over Bunsen and beaker, you know, and then be like, oh, the fifth person has to be the rooster. Everybody just makes fun of them. Ah, you're the rooster, you're stupid buster, but maybe you have a superpower where you can stand up on a chair and cockadoodle, do it everybody, and it makes them annoyed. I don't know, i haven't.

Speaker 5: It's in the design phase, so anyways it's in the it's in the thought phase, jason, it hasn't even no, I have a Google doc I'm working on. Okay, I love that.

Speaker 2: Yeah, well, i did, i did. I did build two different educational games that I've been presenting. So, okay, we'll wrap. We'll wrap stuff up. I think Wrap up music. I Can't find it, oh My goodness did you find Buster move? Did I find Buster move?

Speaker 5: Yeah.

Speaker 2: Is this it? Yeah, this is kind of an inappropriate video I'm watching Chris. Oh Well, it's got a scantily clad people busting a move. I'll tell you that good thing, it's an audio show.

Speaker 5: Good thing I thought it was.

Speaker 2: I thought you guys were talking about Pump up the jam. That's because, alright, i'm. I've watched this show on Netflix and it is like my kind of humor. It's called kunk on earth. Have you guys heard of this? and it's got this. Her name is filimena kunk, but that's not her name. She's British. It's super British humor where she's a dough head and she's just asking all of these like really smart people questions and every episode They reference pump up the jam and it's just. It's one of those improv things where The longer the joke goes on like there's jokes that you need to have the joke go, go, go, go go, and then it's stupid. But if you keep going, it's funny again. And that's British humor Where, like, the joke overstays, it's welcome, but then it reaches a point where it's funny again. I think it's like some rule they teach an improv, but that's what they use. It's like they play way too much of the song and you're like what is going on? but anyways.

Speaker 5: I Like, yeah, that's what happens in improv. Gotta keep the joke, joke. And then it's like a dead horse. You beat it and then you keep beating it and then it becomes funny. Yeah, it becomes funny again.

Speaker 2: Yeah, the more pummeled it is. Leslie Nielsen, famous Canadian comedian from the naked gun series, Genius at this, like the joke that overstayed its welcome becoming funny again. And Seth MacFarlane with family guy He's really good at it too. So anybody who watches family guy like I I have a lot of respect for Seth MacFarlane, like he He's. He's got some chops as a comedy person. So there's like a joke where the main character bonks his knee and he's like And it just goes way too long and that's why it's funny. So anyways, i just I appreciate that kind of very British humor.

Speaker 5: No, she said, do they build it from the bottom up or the top down? and the person's like They would have to build it from the bottom up Because you it would be impossible to build it from the top down. And then she goes I think you're mansplaining. Oh.

Speaker 2: Oh, my god, it is hilarious. You know, i have all these songs on my, have all these sound effects on my, my board, and they're named stupid things, like they're just weird numbers. So I think I need to go back and like wipe it and start over again. Anyways, you.
